Patients are seen after periodontal surgery or dental implant surgery to be certain that they are maintaining periodontal health established by the periodontal or implant surgery. At a recall appointment we examine the patient, review oral hygiene, and do a dental prophylaxis (clean their teeth). We usually alternate recall appointments with the patient's restorative dentist. The patient is usually seen twice a year by each office.
The patient or his/her restorative may choose to have all recall appointments done at their restorative dentist’s office. Then, we will see the patient once a year for a post-treatment examination and oral hygiene review appointment.
